Owl Pellets

This afternoon the Sage children dissected owl pellets (we have had an action packed week). They used their journals to record their findings. There were many “oooohs” and “aaaahhs” as the children carefully used tweezers to pull apart the pellets and discovered tiny skulls and other bones inside.

Thank you all for making our pot luck a wonderful day! Enjoy your time with your family and friends next week!

Oyster Mushrooms!

We received a donated Back to the Roots http://www.bttrventures.com/ oyster mushroom kit from Ex Libris Anonymous http://bookjournals.com
The Lavender classroom has kept a watchful eye and sprayed the spores each day. Over the last week it has been thrilling to see how big they’ve gotten.
When I was taking the photos, children wanted to make sure I captured the scales and the gills.

Emily will be cooking up the mushrooms for tomorrow’s pot luck in a delicious mushroom barley soup!
